Research on D-Shape Open-Loop PCF Temperature Refractive Index Sensor Based on SPR Effect

PCF (Photonic crystal fiber) temperature refractive index sensor based on SPR effect with the new double membrane open-loop structure is proposed. The inner surface of such PCF’s plated a layer 70 nm gold film, and 20 SiO $_{2}$ film coated which could effectively prevent from oxidation corrosion. Besides, open loop reduce production cost, it form two energy channels nearby air holes, promoting leakage core to plasma mode enhancing effects. ethanol be adopted as sensing solution, measure solution measured. Numerical simulation carried out full vector finite element method, results indicate that average wavelength sensitivity reach 3330 nm/RIU, 0.912 nm/$^{\circ }$ C, maximum figure merit (FOM) 102 approximately four times larger than similar reported PCF-SPR sensors in literature. show D-shape photonic fiber has potential application prospect sensing.
